CityU Workshop in Econometrics and Statistics

General Information ​

Transportation ​

The workshop will be held at the City University of Hong Kong. Please refer to Campus Map, Campus Directory or Google Maps for directions. We provide some common transportation options from major points in Hong Kong and Shenzhen below. For more transportation options, please also refer to Getting to CityUHK. Chinese version can be found at the bottom of this section.

By Taxi ​

• Take a red-colored (urban) taxi to CityU.
• Please note that most taxi drivers do not accept credit cards or mobile payments. It is recommended to prepare sufficient cash in HKD for the taxi fare.

From Hong Kong Airport or West Kowloon Station ​

• Estimated fare: From Airport, HKD 350. From West Kowloon Station, HKD 70. Please refer to Taxi Fare.

From Shenzhen Airport ​

• Take a taxi to Shenzhen Bay Port. After passing the border control, take a red-colored (urban) taxi to CityU.
• Estimated fare in Hong Kong section: HKD 300. Please refer to Taxi Fare.

By MTR Train ​

• CityU locates near Kowloon Tong Station. For directions, please refer to MTR Route Planner.
• For easier payment, you can use Visa/Mastercard/UnionPay cards, Alipay/WeChat Pay QR codes, or China T-Union cards on regular MTR lines. For Airport Express, you should use the Online Ticketing Service.

From Hong Kong Airport ​

• Brief instuction: Take Airport Express (towards city) to Tsing Yi, transfer to Tung Chung Line (towards Hong Kong) to Lai King, transfer to Tsuen Wan Line (towards Central) to Prince Edward, transfer to Kwun Tong Line (towards Tiu Keng Leng) to Kowloon Tong.
• After alighting at Kowloon Tong Station, use Exit C2 enter Festival Walk Shopping Centre. Follow the signs on LG1 level to reach CityU.

From Hong Kong West Kowloon Station ​

• Beief instruction: Take Tuen Ma Line (towards Wu Kai Sha) to Hung Hom, transfer to East Rail Line (towards Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau) to Kowloon Tong.
• After alighting at Kowloon Tong Station, use Exit H enter Festival Walk Shopping Centre. Follow the signs on LG1 level to reach CityU.

From Shenzhen Airport ​

• Brief instruction: Take Shenzhen Metro Line 11 (towards Hongling South) to Gangxia North, transfer to Line 10 to Futian Checkpoint, pass the border control to Hong Kong Lok Ma Chau Station, take East Rail Line (towards Admiralty) to Kowloon Tong.
• After alighting at Kowloon Tong Station, use Exit G2 (walk through footbridge after exiting) to enter Festival Walk Shopping Centre. Follow the signs on LG1 level to reach CityU.

Other Useful Information ​

• Time Zone: Hong Kong operates on Hong Kong Standard Time (UTC+8). Hong Kong does not observe Daylight Saving Time.
• Weather: The average temperature in Hong Kong during January typically ranges from 13°C to 18°C (55°F to 64°F). For current weather updates, please visit Hong Kong Observatory.
• Electricity: Hong Kong uses a voltage of 220V and a frequency of 50Hz. The power plugs and sockets are of type G (British standard 1363). A suitable adapter may be required for visitors from regions with different plug types.
• Visa: Please ensure you have the appropriate travel documents to enter Hong Kong. Visas are not required for citizens of most countries. For Chinese Mainland residents, please check the validation of your entry permit card. Please refer to Hong Kong Immigration Department for more instructions.
